Welcome to the website of the Community House in Victoria, B.C., Canada!

WHO WE BE
We have been inspired by the example of the Catholic Worker, who dare to build a just, sustainable and compassionate society.

We are an intentional community, living and working together, striving to inspire ourselves and others.

OUR VISION
  • Welcoming others into our home, a place of refuge, expression, creativity and celebration.

  • Challenging corporate capitalism and the violence it relies on, and working for social justice to transform ignorance and oppression.

  • Living simply, respectful of the Earth.

  • Providing an inclusive environment to explore, express and live spirituality and ritual, both traditionally and non-traditionally.

We haven't chosen a name yet. For now, we just call it the Community House. (But we'd love to hear suggestions for names!! Send us your ideas by e-mail: house@socialchangenow.ca)

The name we choose will likely reflect the call to be prophets in a world of oppression, environmental desecration and the erosion of community and democracy. As prophets we are called to live our lives in community, speaking out on issues of justice and building a better world.
